Flannel take two

Hi! Hope your week has been warm and cozy! In my area we have been in the 20s for the most part. Spring will come soon so I will patiently wait for it and enjoy wearing warm socks and tall boots! These pictures were taken on a weekend when a huge coat isn't necessary. Flannel (previously worn here) and cardigan will also work in keeping this girl warm enough to play with mini horses!(See below)  Princess (grey) was too camera shy and Chiquita (in the background) was too busy. Aren't they cute? They are also super cozy in their natural winter wear. Well hope you have a lovely night and stay warm inside with a nice cup of something wonderful next to your laptop! :) See you soon!

Incredibly Flashy

Happy day!! Give me a minute to remember what day it is though! Between having the kiddos home on Monday for MLK day, then kids on early release, and odd working hours due to the weather, I am not sure where I am at! Anyway, so what do you think of this spot? As I mentioned here, I have been looking for indoor photo options. I find it a bit dark due to the black curtain but maybe it is the dark outfit as well. Let me know in the comments if you care to help a girl out! :)
Check out this super stylish, incredibly flashy, unbelievably affordable watch! (Previously worn here) at $12.00 at my local Wal-Mart, I could not pass up the chance to fool someone (including myself when I look down at my wrist) into thinking it is some coveted Marc Jacobs beauty! Until I actually obtain said item I am more than happy to sport this budget friendly time piece!
I wasn't sure if I covered my love for it the last time I mentioned it so I wanted to be thorough. ;)

Finally Back

HEY!!! I finally got back on here! Blogger was doing something crazy, every time I tried upload a photo I would get a small sphere that would change colors in the middle of the screen, all the time. No matter how many times I signed out and logged  back in. Cleared cache and cookies, just like Google instructed me to. I tried everything but next to the obvious, try a different computer.  Now, two weeks later, here I am finally posting outfit photos of a very cold an dreary day of January. Thanks for sticking with me. By the way, I still have no clue why I can't work on my blog on my own computer. For now, on my work laptop it is! Shhh, don't tell my boss (my dad)! My dad is a wonderful man, if I could get him to agree to have his picture "plastered on the internet" you could meet him.  I doubt it though he hates the internet with a passion. :) He totally supports my blogging aspirations, as long as I "don't photograph in the nude". Since this rant took an awkward turn I think I will say goodbye... Bye!

Time

Happy Thursday!  I hope everyone has enjoyed their days off.  Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, me not so much... Still,  a few moments to have nothing else to do but breathe are always welcome.

Anyways, so... 2014, huh?  How about it?? I have been visiting other blogs these days and I have noticed that everyone has really big plans for 2014. I mean, who doesn't? I know I have made lists, schedules, goals for myself and my life.  It feels like a new start, a new beginning. However when we really think about it, it comes down to one thing, it is a new month we just had to go back to  calling it January.  What I mean is, why don't we have this much excitement, motivation, creativity, and if I may, " hunger" for starting over, starting right, starting clean? At what point do we lose all these feelings that are empowering us this week. When do we stop dreaming big, planning ahead, and accomplishing things and start barely keeping up?  I might be speaking for myself here, but to be honest, January 2013 is a blur to me, I don't remember it. I just know that after it officially became 2013 everything started to change at lightning speed and I was doing everything in my power to keep up. I realize today that I can't keep up.  Time is constant, it doesn't slow down or speed up, it just goes.  It ticks away at the same pace year in and year out. It is me and my attitude, my circumstances, and my mentality that change the appearance of time around me. Let me explain myself. When I am worried or anxious time creeps by as I desperately search my head for an answer an option, once I find it or work towards a resolution time around me seems to speed up.  by the time I know it days fast approach. That appointment or meeting that I thought I had a few days to prepare and plan for is in just a few hours and you know the rest, just like that I am behind. Therefore, trying desperately to catch up and spending the rest of the year with me smoking out of my ears...

So my game plan for this year is to take it a month at a time. I will try to view each month as a new beginning and recharge my mental state so that I don't feel so burned out at the end of the year.  I will set a couple of monthly goals in all aspects of my life and work a little every week to achieve them. This must be snooze reading material for those ladies that have this kind of thing down as a science, however I really struggle with organization and time management. An I am not alone. So happy month of January. If you have any tips and tricks up your sleeve for this topic please share.

New Year confusion

Hi there! How does the first day of 2014 feeling?? I don't know about you, but it will take me well into February to stop dating "2013" on the first try on every thing! Your hands just get used to it, that's all. :) Don't get me started on thinking that 2013 was last year! I have noticed that some people struggle with that just like me and others can switch their mind automatically to changes. Me? I need my time... I need plenty of time to adjust. For example, you don't know how badly days off during the week throws me off. Having three days off in the middle of the week was terrible for my mind! I was so confused! My mind thought only about work when I should have been resting and when it came time to return to work all I wanted to do was rest, and then the weekend came... Confused I tell you.
Anyway, I did however take these photos. This dress I bought for like $5.00 three years ago at Sears. I have planned so many times to incorporate it into a 7x7 remix I wanted to participate in. But every time the 7x7 was available, I never got around to it. So, I decided to do a few just for fun. I hope you enjoy. By the way, meet the door.  Door, meet the internet. You will probably be seeing this door in some indoor shots I will have to do once (and if ) the weather decides to turn. It is the only corner of the house that I can do them in. Thanks for stopping by!

2013 Review in a few...

Hello! In the spirit of it being the last day of 2013, I wanted to do a recap of m first months of blogging. I have had the most wonderful time with my little ole blog. I have learned a lot about blogging and myself since May.  The best part of the this has been being part of blogging. When I visit you all's blogs and look at your gorgeous pictures and read your content I appreciate every bit of it even more, because I know how much work you ladies put into making your corner of the Internet special. I get excited when I see one of my  favorite bloggers being featured on someone else blog for their wonderful look.  I even got featured myself by Agi at Vodka Infused Lemonade on her fun Tres Chic Link up!! ( I got teary-eyed, noted the date, told my family and everything!:)
Speaking of Agi, ladies like her and a few other bloggers I blog stalk, have been such a motivation in my short journey.  I have been inspired by their creativity to dish out great looks every post and have been motivated by their discipline to keep up with life, family, blog, and jobs as difficult as this is. I myself have fallen short a few times and things have just been to much. However, the positivity and encouragement that I have seen and felt myself when a comment shows up is like no other. I look forward to more blogging, more link ups, more photos, and more learning!
Take a look back with me...

Casual Brown

For the second or third weekend in a row my area has had rain. After the rain my nine your old and I ventured into the woods behind our house for photos. He volunteered as my bodyguard (he was armed to defend me with a Nerf axe and a watchful eye) however, he ended up being my assistant. He would tell me I was out of frame, (Mom!, your heads cut off!), fix my poses, (Mom, you look like your about to fall over.), instruct me where to look (Mom if you are taking pictures of yourself, why don't you look at the camera??)  He just could not wrap his head around the fact that the outfit and the background was to be the focus of the pictures. All in all, we had an amazing time. He even told me to let him know next time I went out to shoot...but, to bring snacks...
I should bring him along more often.
Thanks for joining me today.

Woods

I highly enjoy admiring the pictures of you ladies. Strolling in the park, cute poses in your front yard, and applaud those braver than me that make the bold statement of their awesomeness right in the middle of the street. (I'm not quite there yet). However, if you look back throughout the photos in this little ole blog of mine you will see that most of my photos are taken in the country.  I don't offer you a stroll down a sidewalk with nice shrubs and flowers in the background because I simply don't have that. I live in the country. My own home and my parents are a mile from each other and the photos I take are taken from the views of my two homes. Our homes are surrounded with dense woods, clear creeks, rolling hills, and most importantly peacefulness.

Today I thought I would share with you a small part of my beloved woods. Although during this time the trees are bare and it seems I live in a sea of leaves, there is something special about them. I love that you can wake up, peer out the window and see deer right outside. You see birds making their homes and starting their little families right beside yours. During the spring and summer the trees talk to you. They sway back and forth enjoying with you a cool day and they warn you immediately of windy storm. When fall comes the leaves come down to your level, playing with the wind for a little while before they say goodbye. Icicles take their place on the limbs they left behind.

I look forward to the ever changing scenery and I hope that you will visit often to enjoy it with me. Thanks for joining me today.
